Thanks, btw I did put fuel stabilizer in after month two of sitting in the driveway, does that make any difference? I would think it would? The gas smells perfectly fine anyway.

Hmm... no luck reaching someone from the vag-com DB so I'm hunting for a used one to perform a TBA... I'll keep you guys posted.

If you're out in california (san diego). I have a vag-com you can borrow.

Really appreciate you reaching out! I'm in PA unfortunately.

I reached out to a few more guys on the Vag-com db, hopefully someone will reply back.

Many thanks!

If you turn the key to the on position and leave it without starting, it will do the TBA on its own. You can hear it when it happens.

Yeah I read that as well and tried it various ways with no luck. I've yet to clean out the TB though because it's been raining nearly every day here. I'm going to clean the TB, clear the code and give it another try while I search for a vag-com owner. I'll keep you posted.

Problem is fixed, got ahold of a vag-com and the TBA fixed it immediately. Didn't clean the TB yet, but I probably will this week. Frustrating experience (are there any other cars besides Audi/VW that can claim this electronic quirkiness?) but I'm glad that I can now move on to fixing other issues with the car (ABS rebuild, here I come!).

If anyone in my area (Reading PA) needs a vag-com scan, shoot me a PM. After my experience I don't want others going through the same!

PS: 4Driver4 and onedayonly, thanks for pointing me exactly in the right direction. I'm glad I relaxed and followed your input instead of troubleshooting on my own.

Yeah shoot me a PM when you're getting ready, I have vacation coming up late July and early August, before that will be tight, but should have some room afterwards.
