Engine Options...1.8T of 2.8 ?
Im in the process of looking for a new A4, currently i drive a 93 90S with the 12valve 2.8L V6 engine, and i was wondering what are the pros-cons of the two engines offered with the A4...right now my v6 is a bit sluggish off the line and in low gears, im assuming the 1.8T would be a moster in the low gears, but does it have enough power to drive the car at accessivly high speeds (120+mph) also i noticed there was an A6 driving around my town with a 2.8T badge on the back, but i wasnt aware the 2.8 could be turboed, can it? what are your thoughts? which engine would give me more bang? (i would love to get the biturboed 2.8L S4, however im a poor college student and can only scrape together enough cash for an A4. let me know what you think. thanks.

The S4 and the A6 you saw were 2.7T's not 2.8's. This question is posted almost everyday.
If you scroll back you'll probably find much debate over the engine options. The 2.8 is smoother and has more power in stock form. Most people agree that if your looking to upgrade the engine power through modifications, you should get the 1.8T because Mod choices are abundant and much less expensive (mostly) than modifications to the 2.8. If you're a poor college student then you probably aren't going to have the $$$$ for 2.8 mods (I don't either.) Good luck.
