Slush Puppie

my engine temp gauge isn't working right. last night after a half hour of driving it moved from cold for the first time, and then went up to about 1/4 over the next minute or so, and then slowly went back down to cold... today it stayed on cold for about 4-5 minutes then went up to 1/2 and then went back down...

any suggestions? TIA.

Oil Temp gauge is still working fine, so i'd be able to tell if anything was going wrong, but i don't want a dead gauge in my cluster.
