Default Erm, please don't laugh....

Can I remove the ABS control module form the ABS pump and drive the car (with no ABS of course) safely and without brake fluid squirting every where? I'm think of sendign my 'unit' off for refurbishment as it is beefed.

Default Yes...... just cover up the exposed pins with a plastic bag and tape...

I just did this and it was NO problem. I shipped my bad ABS control module to BBA in the U.S. and they shipped a replacement (mine was too far damaged they said) along with my defective unit back to me. Plugged it in and it works great. Cost me around 150 Freedom Units.

- Good luck

Default AH... I'm using old world money.... Sticks and small pebbles.....

In the UK I can get a refurb unit for £100, about $190 new money..... Cheers for the help. Winter's on it way here , (never really left to be honest) and I could do with all the help I can get.

Default Only the controller/brain is removed.... the actual pump stays on the car ...

maintaining the integrity of the brake lines at all times. Since the electric connections are "severed" there's no chance of the missing controller activating the ABS pump.... because the controller is on a workbench somewhere. Even with a defective abs controller connected to the ABS pump, nothing will ever happen because the electronics in the controller are compromised. So removing it to have it serviced hasn't actually changed anything.

Default Those are the valves that the controller manipulates to relieve brake pressure and build back up

very quickly (via the pump), resulting in the pulsating sensation that tickles my bottom.

Default they're moved via electromagnets

Don't put the bag near anything hot and cover the electrical connection too.
