Escort Cordless Solo S2 ...anybody have one?
I need to get a detector...I have been lucky for too long! What are the thoughts regarding this detector vs. the valentine or escort 8500

go with the 8500...
i was using my buddy's for a few weeks before i got my v1. all in all, it was a good detector. Dont go with wireless. anything wireless has less power, which in turn, will give you less pickup of radar in the area. spend the extra money and have the extra protection.

Cordless detectors often make sacrifices to performance in order to extend battery life.
For that reason, I would avoid the Solo.
Between the V1 and 8500, I would take the V1 hands down. I love the arrows, and the increased sensitivity with the V1. The 8500 falses less though...if that's more important to you. Obviously, the 8500 is $100 cheaper too.
