They are legal. If the state that you are in has front plates, then you run the risk of getting a ticket, unless you display the front plate in the window or underneath the europlate. If you live in a state that only has rear plates then you have no problems. At autoplates.com they are $50 for plate and holder.

first of all, how did you install europlates in the square plate opening on the trunkof your A4? also, how is legal for you to use euro plates? do you just put on the same license plate number on the europlates and then mount them? it just doesn't sound legal. if everyone did that it would defeat the purpose of plates which help cops id your car the way they are supposed to. am i missing something here?
