exactly what does a shop do when they "refinish" something

If the shop is worth a damn they go back to bare metal...
prep the surface, prime it, sand it, paint several coats, and blend the clearcoat to match adjacent body panels, etc.

hood and front bumper
I have a dent on the hood and i want to repair the paint on the hood also. Refinishing will take 3.1 hours for the hood.
On the bumper, you can read about that at the link. I have the estimate here and it says it will be 3.1 hours to refinish the front bumper cover.
this bumper problem is pissing me off. i called aoa already and i dont think they can do anything because i think my warranty is up. grrrrr!!<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/a4/threads/644765.phtml#680343">Peeling paint problem</a></li></ul>
