Default Expected oil usage on a MY2000 1.8TQM w/ 50,000 miles on synthetic its whole life?
hi, does it make sense that my engine used up a quart of oil in about 4000 miles since the last oil change? I went to check the level last night, and was surprised how much i needed to top it up.

Not normal. I never add any oil to my car between oil changes.

Default Hmmm...and what could be the cause? What should I be looking for to fix it?
I would have to let my mechanic do it, but I'm curious. I've always stayed on top of the maintenance.

Nope - I never need to add oil and I do a few track days. Are you sure it was topped up?

I have always used sythetic. I have about 20 track days on the car, 208K miles, and it uses zero oil.

Default Do you have leaks?
Mine leaks at the valve cover and cam adjustor gaskets. It adds up over time/miles.

Up to 1 quart per 1000 miles is 'within spec' per AoA
