my 20 month old A4 2.8 30V has just over 55K KM's and I am thinking about getting an Extended warranty. I wanted to ask you all out there if you had any good advise about which warranty to get in Canada (Toronto) and how much it would run for?.... I was looking to extend my warranty by 2 years (5 years total) and have a "Bumper to Bumper" one....
Thanks
shai.

From my dealer (Bramgate in Brampton), they have extended warranty for 3 more years and it'll depend on how much kilometers you'll buy. The price is something like $2000 for 3 more yrs (6 yrs in total w/ factory warranty or 100,000km), and they have 116,000km, 130,000km, etc.
Give them a call.

I don't really know. But I might not get it since I want to chip my car after my 3 yrs of warranty. And I'll pick up my car today.

Odie
1.8TQAS
Shai, save your money and invest it elsewhere. I have a 97 A4 quattro. My warranty expires 03/00. Like you, I also looked hard into getting an extended warranty. My dealer originally wanted $3000 for two additional years of bumper to bumper coverage, not including maintenance. I called all the Audi dealers here in Vancouver, and got a best quote of $2000 for additional four years. You see the difference, there is a lot of bargaining room. I decided not to buy it after reading the extended warranty section in "personal finance for dummies" According to that source, extended warranty has the highest profit margin, much higher than a sunroof or a CD changer, etc. For every dollar they get, they only pay out 17 cents on average. So I have decided to put away that money on a term deposit in case the A4 needs any repairs. I realize that in a catastrophic event I will lose money, but I am going with the odds that I will come out ahead by not purchasing the warranty.
Hope this helps.
Sunn
