Default Extreme cold, hard starting any ideas......

I have a 97 A4 1.8T at -30C it takes a long time and multiple tries to start it, thought it was a frozen fuel line, 2 tanks and gas line antifreeze at very tankful, I still have the same problem. At about -10 C no problems. I'm puzzled, does anyone have a clue.

Thanks in advance

Default Explain hard starts?

Slow to turn over? Turns over fine but doesn't catch?
Could be plug related.

No earthquakes, no tornadoes, healthcare, nice to see 4 seasons, lots of well paying jobs, reasonable real estate cost, need I say more ?

Cranks fine, lots of current, it just needs to be cranked constantly at 20-30 second intervals. Once started it runs perfect.

Default Same weather in my neck of the woods, no starting problem though, sorry!

It has been -25C to -30C for a good week now. But haven't experienced your starting problems though.

Good luck,

Default Ive got the same weather here... Some tricks that might help..

throw an old blanket over the front of the car. try to tuck the nose of the car under a deck or something else to trap the heat. You'd be surprised how much that helps.
