Default Extricating the ignition key

I have a 2009 rental A4 1.8T 6 speed on assignment in Germany and am having difficulty extricating the ignition key. I do not have the remote key with the push button start option. What's the secret to removing the ignition key with one try?

Default Not sure.. Does it have an actual key, or just the fob? Does it push into the little hole?

I've only seen them with the 'smart' key. But even if you use the key in teh hole in the dash, you push it in, and push it to make it pop out.

Default No key just a fob. Pushes into a little slot and starts up just fine.

Stops just fine. Just doesn't like to give up the fob.

Default What are the odds both you and the person in the B8 forum would have the same post?

What are the odds that Nate would post something unhelpful and caustic?

Default I'd say do something counter-intuitive like push it in farther to see if it releases

Maybe it just doesn't pull out . Just a thought.

Default My experience with this key setup is limited, but I think you're right..

I remember having to push it in pretty far to get it out.
