Here's my dillema. I have a 2001 A4 1.8TQ plagued by a mysterious noise on startup and during low RPM. Have had bypass valve replaced, turbo connecting rod replaced with no relief. Now the dealership says that it is a nuisance noise that they cannot localize and cannot do anything further. What is my next course of action?
Does a consistent noise qualify for the lemon law? Do I take it to yet another dealership? Do I trade it in for a BMW? HELP!

and try to match it with the operating frequency of the components in the car. If it matches with a component, that means the component is bad. Replace it or make sure the mounting of the component is secure. This is what an engineer told me. Don't know if you have the resource to do all this, but maybe it will solve your problem.

1) Noise on startup is a low medium pitched rattle, almost as though the exhaust shield is loose. Goes away after several seconds of idle.
2) Crescendo low to medium pitched grunt noise during 1200-2000 RPM on initial accelerator.
3) Chirp from bearings from front suspension over bumps
(Dealer definately will not replace the control arm links because they are not interfering with "car function"
