So my wife and I headed up to Canada this afternoon to catch some of the "free trials" they do on Friday afternoons at the Canadian Grand Prix circuit. I think I've been going to F1 in Montreal for the last 6-7 years. Snagged some decent seats in the hairpin this time. It's awesome because the cars come roaring into the hairpin in the upper end of 7th gear. They then decellerate (sp?) down to first and rocket out of the hairpin.
There was a 60% chance of heavy rain, so we only took the little point and shoot camera instead of other nicer digi gear for photo and video. Still caught some 'interesting' stuff that I thought I'd share:
F1 car:

Fuzzy glowing rotors:

Watch this video of a brave little rodent:

Porsche IMSA GT3 cars:

Video of some post-carnage. You can just see a car going sideways for a split second....

The damage...Not pretty at all...Don't forget there is an engine back there:
<img src="http://axismotorsport.com/media/F1Canada2008/slides/DSCN0764.JPG">
The other car...take a close look at the rear rotor...what's missing? A chunk of rotor...believe that!?
<img src="http://axismotorsport.com/media/F1Canada2008/slides/DSCN0770.JPG">
Hope you enjoy. I only took about 2.5 minutes of video and about 20 pics. None of them really came out well with the old digital camera, but either way, I documented the day. ;-)
