Default FAILED MOD: FMIC misters =(

i attempted to make a mister thingimajig for my FMIC where there isnt much realty space so i tried these - they are industrial foggers mainly used infront of big a$$ fans to cool down livestock =). they create a fine mist even with just plain old windshield washer pump. i thought i finally got it like wow, its nice and compact BUT(!) the firkin things leak =( just drips but since its up front any safety geek will ban my car out of the playground. sooo i'm back to the drawing board. will give updates of progress later.

Default does it need more pressure? or do the hoses leak?

if you're using the stock windshield washer pump & its just dribbling out, it may just be too weak.... i have a pump i was going to use for water injection that might be perfect for what your trying to do...hit me up if you're interested in it

sweet setup BTW, i had a similar idea, but it didnt look quite as clean as what you've done...& i was using sprinkler misters ;p

Default nah. the misters dribbles when not in use, it should be ok if i move the reservoir or piping

lower than the misters. the pump was perfect for 2 foggers, but stronger pump will be better

Default Funny. My mister doesn't dribble when not in use...

They have doctors that can treat that nowadays, ya'know. :-P

Default couple of things might help...

1 use narrower hose, silicone are great

2 go to any fish store and find some check valve/one way vavle

i am running these nozzles right now, http://forums.i-club.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=206525

Default Dont want to use the stock pressure cylinders..?

They provide a decent amount of pressure.. Enough to keep things cool( if you drop some ice cubes in the tank at track events =))

Default mabye put a 2-3 psi check valve in front of each nozzle

once the pump stops running those should do a decent job of stopping any water from leaking out

Default ice cube won't help..however

if you mix rubbing alcohol (71%) with water it will help a bit but only if the relative humidity is high and the water needs "help" evaporating. i've mixed half a pint of alcohol into 1 gallon of water, came out pretty good, this mixture still cleans water very well too

the whole point about mister is it evaporates the heat, and water has the largest heat energy absorbtion (500 joules)

if fact, if the water is warm and it's spray on the i/c it should evaporate faster than cold water

unless you have water running thru the i/c (as oppose to misting) then yes cold water would do better

Default There are special ends you can get for exactly that problem.

It's for conditions when the mister is lower than the tank. It's a one way check valve on each. I'll see if I can find the site, some company in AZ, aquamist or something.
