Faint buzzing noise and headlights dim in a slide???

Faint buzzing noise and headlights dim in a slide???
Ok.. we got our first big hit of snow tonight and I had to run out to goto the store. I did a little snow drifting and while doing it I noticed that when the rearend slides out to the right and the tires spin from loose of traction that there is a very faint kinda buzzing or horn like sound and the headlights dim a bit. I rolled the window down to see it I can hear it outside and it is only in the car that I hear it.
Anyone know what this is? Is it a traction control or something? No dash lights come on at all when this happens.
