Faulty headlight washers, stuck up!

Faulty headlight washers, stuck up!
My car is almost new, under 2000 miles. The headlight washers spray great (too great, ALL OVER the hood, wasting a lot of fluid and getting the car all wet and dirty looking, bad design!), but they remain out of the bumper (both of them). I need to force them back into their holes, and risk loosing a finger or two in the process.
Why not use wipers for the headlamps? They must be much better at washing the headlights and don't require as much fluid. As long as you make sure no ice is keeping them in place, wipers are a better idea, methinks. After 4 years of driving Saabs, never have I had a wiper problem, and they worked great at getting salt and stuff off..
This is a stupid thing to go to the dealer for, on a new car, when my first oil change is at 12000kms (I'm at less than 3000 now). That's a long time between oil changes. Is that right for the 2.8Q? Has anyone else had this washer problem? Doesn't seem right.
Ah well,
Thanks!
