not to say one is better than the other, but I though the Meyle HD was solid like the S4

Default The S4 version is lighter...which is better

in a small way.

I have one of the Meyle Heavy Duty tie-rod ends on my front passenger side. No problems. It's a quality part.

Default Meyle HD TRE ball joint looks much bigger than S4. Same added boot protection too

the pics don't show the ball joint well but the S4 looks similar in size to the stock A4. Look at my Meyle tre pics, the Meyle HD tre's have much larger ball joints.
They have the same metal washer to protect the rubber boot as the S4.

If the S4 isn't much larger than stock, I would def. get the Meyle TRE

I have had good luck replacing both outer only on my s8 with 90k miles on it now. Lived in montreal all its life (salt!). Came out easy. I used a part store jobber when I was in a time bind, lasted less than a year, then replaced both with OEM units, tracks straight and propeblm free 1+ year now.
