a few posts down? do you have to get new brakes if you do a wheel upgrade i.e. 15" to 17"

do most people upgrade suspension/brakes right away? or will i be ok with rims with stock suspension and brakes for a while? plan was is to buy rims, save money buy suspension.....save money....then brakes.

The better performance you'll get is mainly reduced or eliminated brake fade. You will also get better pedal feel from running better fluid and SS brake lines insted of the stock rubber ones.
Upgrading suspension and wheels won't make you NEED different brakes.. but if you track your car at all, it's HIGHLY recommended as the stock A4 brakes have major fade when you drive them hard.
However, upgrading your brakes (calipers and/or larger rotors) will make it necessary to increase the size of your wheels.

with 18s, the wheel gap's big...about a whole fist for sport suspension. that's why i rec. getting springs/shocks. But if you like the allroad look, go for it.
