I don't know if anyone remembers but back in Feb/march I said I was going to be running Megasquirt on my blue car.
Well after 4 months of nothing but problems I got it running.
The problem was that I tried to keep the stock ECU in the loop, to control things such as the fuel pump.
I was able to get the car started with Megasquirt in the past but it wouldn't stay running. I figured the stock ECU would turn the fuel pump relay on when the key is clicked over. I was wrong.
Stock ECU only turns fuel pump on for a second when you turn the key over, to build up some pressure. Then when you actually start the car, it turns it on again. But it never knew I started the car since none of the sensors were plugged in and never turned the fuel pump on.
So I plugged the fuel pump into Megasquirt fuel pump relay wire, and all is good. The car is idling perfect. I'm about to go do some street-tuning. I'm just so friggin happy its running now!

the basemap I got from another A4 w/ Megasquirt is pretty much dead on. I've put about 10-15 miles on it sofar.

The stock ECU shuts the fuel pump off if there is no RPM signal present. It's best to have the FP running off of your MS ECU, but technically, you could have split the VR-sender signal and gotten the FP to work. Does your factory tachometer work?
BTW...got your email...i'll get back to that tomorrow morning! ;-)

Car runs awesome even with the huge injectors on the standard resolution code. IT will only get better once I put the HR code in.
Did a little bit of street tuning at 14 psi, it feels good! I can't wait to get this buttoned up. Not going to drive it hard until I get the knock sensing components in though.
