At least here in Washington, it says in some RCW, that if your vehicle didn't come equipped with mounting for a front license plate, you dont have to have one, so you may be able to get pictures of your bumper showing no mounts for a front plate and get away with it. That law is bull****, its like the tint law, the cops just want to keep an eye on everyone. FVCK EM!

What state are you in? I'm in Maryland and I know some people who just carry the plate in their car and then if they get pulled over for it....which has happend several times..they just say that it fell off and they have it in the car and are going to put it on. Just for future reference...cant say it will necisarily work.

i removed the black center grille piece, drilled on upwards from underneath (the holes are covered when the grille is re-installed).
the "L" brackets came straight forward, and bent upward within .5" of my bumper face. the license plate was easily attached to the holes in the bracket with nuts/bolts. probably similar can be done on the S4 front.
i got the brackets from ace hardware, about $1 something each, and a few self tapping screws and nuts/bolts completed the installation.
now i have a replaceable license plate when i need the "fix-it" written-off. i am in CA.
sorry, no pics of the install...
