Default FINALLY, pictures of my boost guage installation...more

well, after having the materials for almost a year, my lazy a$$ decided to install my autometer 2 1/16" boost/vacuum guage. the boost goes up to 20 psi, and the vacuum goes to 30 in. Hg.

i followed sean g's faq and things went pretty smoothly. the only thing that was confusing was how he actually got the tubing into the interior. i did it my way, through a grommet that is not used on the tiptronic model, and it went perfectly.

when i get around to it, i'll take pictures of the tap into the fpr line and the way i t-ed it and clamped it. it all looks pretty stock, except for the white tubing.

these pictures are pretty bad, cause i took em 5 minutes ago in my dark garage. the coloring is not perfect with the red bulb cover, but is pretty close. its a bit more orange, but so was my turbo timer. you guys can get the idea from these pictures, and ill post better ones when we get some sun in this godforsaken state. here you go...

Default Sean recommends using the line that runs to the BPV for the boost line T joint.

How come you went with the FPR line, and do you think it's really worse than the BPV one?

Default i used the same line as sean did, it is an fpr sensor line. explanation...

he said he WANTED to use the BPV line in the front of the engine, but it was too far away. i used the fpr line, so did he. i figured that even if the boost guage tubing would disrupt the signal a little, it would never be noticeable to me that the fuel pressure was a bit delayed. it works great.
