I will be going into the body shop to have some panel re-repainted.
the first job has been chipped a lot. I mentioned additing a flex additive to the paint for the upcoming job. My body shop guy said that it wasn't worth it.
he thought that the plastic parts were still curing which caused the paint to not adhere as well as it should have.
Should I believe him, he is a professional after all or should I insist upon it.
thanks in advance

Once I get a few dozen other projects under control I plan do do the lower body panel matched paint thing myself. I am going to the Dupont automotive dealer here and get their advice and products. My guess is that both proper bonding primer and agents in the topcoat are key.

Generaly all metal surfaces do not have flex in the clearcoat..most all bumpers, sideskirts, door molding have flex in it..anything that will flex when installing on the car will have flex.(ABS plastics, fibre glass) Flex may or may not help rock chips.
