Default Flik wasps 18 x7.5 question on tires

Im about to go buy these rims but I would like to go for a 235/40/18 tire not the 225/40/18. I would like to have a little personal knowledge so I dont go in there and and have them sell me on something I dont really want to do. so my question is will those tires fit on that rim. any pros cons on that option? TIA
Jimmy

Default The tires will fit the rim, but will they fit the car is the question..

and that will depend on wheel offset, whether or not your fenders are rolled or pulled, how low you are, what your camber is set to, and which tire is purchased (there is quite a bit of variance in just one tires size.. kinda like shoes (different brands always seem a bit different size wise)

Now the question is what do you expect to gain from going to a 235 over a 225?

i wouldnt put 235 on a 7.5" rim... 225 is a better fit. why do you want the 235?

I would also suggest that you ask the folks at Edgeracing, they are usually pretty helpful

Default wider tires just look better as long as they fit inside the bodywork.

i run 235/45-17 on bbs rkII 17x8 with no issues whatsoever. with some fender rolling, dunlop super sport race 245/40-17 will be mounted for track days and autocross. a fellow aw member has run them successfully and says they measure about 260 wide.
