floor mats soaking wet and AC is spitting water
My car doesnt' smell good right now. Continuing issue for 2 days now, someone recomended Heater Core needs to be replaced.
how much of a PITA will that be?

Nah, it sounds like a clogged drain tube at the evaporator
Find the other end of the tube under the car and then *gently* snake something up there to break up the clog. Don't use a coat hanger since you also don't want to puncture the evaporator.
