Default yup. Audis (and subies) with proper snow tires really are SCARY grippy in snow.

my subaru legacy with Gen1 blizzaks were AMAZING.... enough that I used to carry a tow rope... it is great to pull out some farmer's blazer with a little wagon...

Default Yeah, I did that too...

With my old 80q, one day I pulled out 1 4runner, and one Wrangler (which was in 2 wheel drive because "the owner's manual says not to use 4 wheel drive on the road" said the lovely blonde owner of said wrangler) on the way skiing..

Default Me too.. I remember the first time I drove our then new 96 A4..

it still had the all seasons on it as the snows we had ordered had not yet arrived.. Coming down our luge run of a driveway, the ABS was working so hard that the car wouldn't stop AT ALL.. We rolled right into the road, luckily no one was coming.

Conversely, when the Blizzaks finally arrived, coming down the same road with even more ice, the ABS doesn't come on at all..

Default Heh, I guess I could invest in snow tires.....but for 1 week a year? Nah.

I was telling my wife all the way up the mountain that "I hope the Q makes up for the summer tires."
