if you have ecodes (looks like it form that pic) you can just use the existing wiring to do what you need to do...
btw, what fogs are those? look pretty sweet... might want some for the 4000

Made by Hella. They aren't really fogs, they are DRLs.<ul><li><a href="http://www.hella.com/produktion/HellaCOM/WebSite/Channels/Drivers/Vehicle_specific_Products/AudiA4/Day_Run_Lights/Day_Run_Lights.jsp">Hella</a></li></ul>

then do a relay mod so they stay on with the ignition switch... that way you don't have to bother messing with running new wires, relays, that kinda deal... follow me?

I originally wanted to do the fog mod and tap into the old fog wire, but the only fog mod write-up I could find was for the later MYs where they cut the prongs on a relay and soder in two jumpers. So, I thought it wouldn't be too hard to do it this way. Maybe I'm making things too difficult here. I'm still somewhat of a noob when it comes to audis.

I did the fog light mod to my car (a '96 as well) which involved running a power line from the 75x post, through a fuse, to the light switch in the center console, jumper to the rear fog light switch, and back to the relay that runs the fogs. From there you can either:
a) cut a wire and ground the relay end which will allow you to run the fogs as soon as the ignition key is turned
or
b) just leave the wire cut and not ground the relay.
I think you needed to run two power leads, one to the switch and another to the relay to make this work (both off the 75x post so that power was instant on with ignition). I didn't want my fogs to come on with the ignition, but with my parking lights... so I had to trace a wire down in the steering column that allowed me to do this. I was successful, though it was a royal PITA
Do a search for audifirst. Paul was who I got the write-up from. I had his website, but he changed domains so I don't have it anymore... but you *should* be able to find it. I know someone else did that I referred to his site and posted the new addy.
good luck! And if worst comes to worst, trace the wires w/ a bentely manual. That's actually what I did just to figure out exactly what I was doing. I'm very happy with it, but it's been easily 4 years since I messed with it, so I can't remember how it all went down.
