Why are the fog lights a different color than the Xenon headlights? Is the color of the Xenon bulbs not as good in the fog? I would like to change the bulbs in my fogs to match the headlights but I wasn't sure if Audi puts those in there for a reason. I haven't driven in heavy fog yet this year so I don't have an opinion either way. Is this a common mod or am I better off with the OEM bulbs? If so, what type/size are the best match with Xenon headlights? Thanks for the info.

They are different because the fogs are not xenon HID, just plain old halogen.

Fogs are not xenon!! Thats why they look different. 1999.5 and up are H7 size.

What other people have said plus I believe a more yellow light is recommended for fog.

I realize that the fogs aren't Xenon bulbs but I wanted to know why they are not the same color as Xenon lights. My question was whether or not the blue/white tint is not good in the fog? Are they different for that reason? Besides, even if they are halogens, can't the color of the light be similar to the Xenon? Isn't the headlight mod that I see on non-Xenon cars a halogen bulb?
