I just got a boost gauge last week and an APR chip today(yay me). Before, I was seeing what i made for peak boost. It usually happened when I floored it doing around 55 or 60 in 5th gear at 3krpm or so, and the boost climbed fast from there. Now when I do that, Im only making 8 or 9 psi when I do that (after the 14psi chip). I also tried flooring it through the first 3 gears, but never really made too much boost.

I guess what Im saying is, when and under what conditions do you guys make full boost, and whow high is it? Also include model and year, mine is '98 1.8T.

You should make full boost in any gear over 2600 rpms at WOT.


YOu also might want to check your bpv because it might be leaking.

if I slip the clutch a little off the line. Full boost comes around 3500 rpms and drops to 8 psi by 6000 rpms. It's like that in each gear.
