Freakin' frozen door handle

I just went out to my car and unlocked the doors. Lock button popped up, lights flashed like normal, but when I pulled on the handle to open the door it did not work. It "felt" like it was still locked. So I just assumed it was frozen (it's about 25 degrees right now) and banged my shoulder against the door a few times. Still didn't work. Same problem with the passenger front door. Luckily the two back doors both worked. So I climbed up to the front seat and tried the inside door handle, and the door opened easily-just like it normally does. So I got out and tried it again from the outside, and it didn't work. It seems as though the outdoor handle is not at all connected to the latch that keeps the door closed, but the inside handle is.
Then after 10-15 min of driving around with the heat on HI I get out and try the doors again. Both door handles now work from the outside.
Something frozen I guess?
Anyone know what to do about this?
Thanks

I leave work at 11pm usually...and its a good 10-20 degrees out (as of late). I've never had an issue with the handles freezing. Sounds like a different issue to me.
