Friction Noise Coming from Door Frame and Window
I’ve had my 1999.5 A4 for about one month and from day one there has been an annoying noise coming from the top door frame and window, when the window is completely rolled up. I have read most of the forums addressing this issue and have tried RainX, silicone spray, rubber conditioner, nothing seems to be working. I really hesitate adjusting the window frame at this point. Does anyone have any new solution that has worked for them? I’m hoping it will go away after the car has broken in.

This is what worked for me....(more)
Are you sure that it is not coming from the mirror piviot joint? I took it to the deal 3 times. Each time they adjusted the door frame. The noise was still there at speeds above 70 mph.
I went to www.tech.vw.com and looked for a TSB. There was one there that involved inserting a felt ring into the mirror piviot joint. IT WORKED!!
This might help. Try this on an empty road. Roll down your window and put your finger over the frontal piviot point gap of the mirror. If your noise goes away, then this is your fix.
Hope this helped!!
