""They are major cool,"
says Gordon Wangers, driving enthusiast and boss at AMCI, a California testing
firm that validates automakers' advertising claims. "I never tire of switching
them on and watching that bluish-white, fire-up-and-focus routine. In fact,
I always do it two or three times to show off if I have passengers," Wangers
says."
And the fact that the article says "xenon warrior princes" disgusts me to no end. this is pathetic.
""They're too bright," says motorist Michelle Massey of St. Louis, who often drives her sport-utility vehicle on secondary roads at night." Whaa! even a sport utility driver says they're bright. These xenons MUST BE STOPPED! *sigh*

"Because HID lights are on high-end cars, they've become
a fashion statement. Auto-parts firms sell blue-tint halogen lights that resemble
the HID color, for those dying to have their $9,000 Kia Rios mistaken at night
for $120,000 Mercedes-Benz S-classes"
Even USA today is making fun of ricers!! :-D

Everything has its limitations, fair or not.
There was a time when there were no speed limits, no engine governers, no rev limiters. Then cars got faster and more powerful.
Back in the day a 16 year-old could afford a musclecar capable of incredible power...that has changed.
As we get better at manufacturing cars, we get "too good" in certain areas, those areas have to have limitations set on them.
I personally don't have a problem with Zenons, or highbeams. But, I'm not a stupid yuppie that drives an SUV that is dumb enough to stare at headlights instead of focusing on the right side of the road like we are all taught. Idiots like that ruin it for the rest of us. And of course, there are people with night-vision issues.
My $.02.....discuss..

being "too bright" compared to sealed beam lamps, and electric headlights being too bright, compared to acetylene-arc lamp? The problem is people aren't used to them yet, and feel the need to complain instantly, since it's not something they see everyday.

...SUV's and trucks. It's bad enough that the car is higher than most cars, think about what it'll be like when you have their Xenons lighting up the cabin of your car and blinding you via rearview mirror.

Our '89 F250 blinds the crap out of other drivers when on low beam thanks to the 4' height of the lights. Since that has been an issue for 12+ years now and they are just now looking into it, my guess is this "news" is just a bone to get the bitchers to shut up until they get used to blue-white lights.
