Default I agree, but is it really "build quality?".........or is it "ya get what you pay for?"........

is their a difference in build quality for the dollar? I'm not so sure. That's what I meant.

IMHO, both build quality and quality of materials is better in Audis..

Default I've asked for the numbers.

I'm going based on the stats available on this site in the Model Guide section. If you have other numbers, please produce them with the source.

I'm not looking for a fight or flame war. The topic has peaked my interest and when someone makes a blanket statement I'd like to know what that's based on.

Default Are you not taking into account the weight transfer from the front to the back?

During a launch or heavy acceleration at lower speeds weight is transfered from the front of the car to the rear. Therefore weight (that provides added traction) is taken away from the front wheels.

Default Looking at the 2000 1.8t B5 specs under the Model Guide I found this...

"Curb Weight (quattro/manual): 3241 lbs

Note: Subract 200 lbs for FWD, Add 100 lbs for automatic transmission"

Stats are not listed in regards to FWD on the 2001 spec sheet.<ul><li><a href="https://www.audiworld.com/model/historical/00/a4.shtml">2000 A4 Model Features &amp; Specifications</a></li></ul>
