Default Fuel Injector problem?

I'm still tryin to figure out my misfire issue. Using the VAG I've found out that it still misfires when it's warm, just not nearly as bad as when I start driving in the morning.
I've changed the spark plugs, and checked the wires/coil packs with the multimeter (resistance values found in the Bentley manual) Those are all good. When I initially changed the plugs, I added injector cleaner, and it *appeared* to solve the misfire.
Now 1500 miles later, the misfire is worse than ever. It misfires Cyinder 1 only. At idle and also at all throttle positions. I'm not burning any oil, so I don't think it's a compression issue.
Knowing that history, does anyone have any experience with a bad fuel injector? What to do?

Have you tried switching the injectors around?

Default Do that, and see if the misfire follows the injector. If it does, bad injectors.

if it is still cylinder 1, doesn't that mean its the ignition control unit

Default I'll try that...

I've never pulled an injector, so I'll let that wait 'till the weekend. Anyone got a ballpark time for injector swapping?

The only ignition stuff I've checked are the coils and the plug wires. There's 3 pairs of somethingorother up by the air box, which I'll investigate at some other point.

Thanks for the help.

Default do a search on the ignition control unit.....

and pulling injectors take like 5 minutes. just remember where you put the injector from cylinder 1 to see if the misfire shows again in that new cylinder
