Default hmm... but did they cover the effects of turbos in your class? Not sure the oil companies ...

consider it either when they market that low octane crap here. Maybe you've got a 2.8, and you don't care. I don't mean to give you a hard time either - but I'm really just curious. If a turbo uses a mass airflow sensor isn't it almost like running at sea level - as long as the waste gate is still opening when it gets enough air?

I run 91 octane - but I'm worried my engine will be permanently retarding the timing if I chip the b*tch.

...visited my grandparents there years ago. I was taking 3 showers a day (no $hit). I'll take the desert anyday.

Yeah.. What is up with the octane rating in CA gas? Is it becuse of the MTBE in california gas? I noticed allot of gas stations now selling 86/88.5/91 octane gas.. I wouldn't personally know still since my A4 was totalled a couple of weeks ago and haven't driven since.. =)
