Fuel pressure/Evaporation System leak - HELP before I get robbed
Check engine light, local Germ. Auto shop told me it was a small leak in fuel tank evap system - no leak found, system reset. Light is back on after fill-up just as I was told might happen. Is there a common problem and likely solution besides having every component, tube and fastener replaced by the dealership? I searched the web and forum and didn't find much.
Thanks

Re: bad gas cap? - Stock gas cap... Do they fail??? Anyone have VAG COM in Oregon???
I guess I could order a new one/go aftermarket/??? after I get the damn CEL light turned off again.

if the gas cap is not tight it will throw a CEL. Therefore if the cap is bad (presumably from being
dropped) it might not seal.
In CA, when going through the emission tests they test our fuel caps to ensure there is a tight seal.
Just thought...it could be a lot of things including a bad fuel filter.

Re: Fuel pressure/Evaporation System leak - HELP before I get robbed
Have exact same problem on my '01 S4. I tried a new gas cap, no help. Anyone find anymore out on what causes this? I have APR ECU and I get the same codes on both the stock ECU and the aftermarket one.
