Strangest thing, last night I drove 15 miles to the movie theater, and after seeing "Signs" (f'in creepy movie, everyone go see it) my car would not turn over. I thought the battery was dead, but I jumped it and nothing. I checked the battery out with a multimeter and it gave 12 volts. My friend used the multimeter on the contacts for the fuel pump and noticed it wasn't getting power. We concluded it is probably the fuel pump relay. I had it towed to the dealer, and I am waiting for them to check it out. If it is the relay though isn't that kind of strange? Car only has 6k miles.

I replaced the fuel pump relay in my car. The symptoms where that the car cranks, but will not start. So I doubt that is your problem.

Are you sure your car was in "Park" when you tried to start it? J/K

Those are actually exactly my symptoms. I guess i used the wrong vocab. Ya it would crank but would not start up. I hope that doesn't mess anything up if you try to start it 10 times or so over the course of troubleshooting.

I don't think anything will be damaged. I know out of frustration I tried it more than 10 times without any additional problems. Mine would usually start after much cursing, swearing and threats of demolition. It's amazing how much aggrevation and inconvenience a thirty dollar part can cause.

had the fuel pump relay go on my 97 at about 90k did you get check engine lite if so fault may indicate injectors disconnected all 4 in my case power for injectors run through pump relay so they will not open if pump isn't running
