Funky parking lights in the rear

Funky parking lights in the rear
(Yes, I searched first)
When my parking lights are on I get different lights illuminating from each rear corner. The left rear lights up the middle far left and the cell just to the the right of it. The right rear only lights up the far right side, not the cell just inside of it. I took apart the housings to see if it was a bulb issue and found they are all working and the exact same bulbs light up on both sides when the parking lights are on. What's the scoop? Is it the housing and is it supposed to do that?

So the manual states....
that with JUST the parking lights on, the left side will light up one more cell than the right? I'm familiar with the rear fog, but only when it's actually ON. I even bought a euro switch and wired a rear fog on my Passat. So, in your condescending tone you're trying to say that it's normal?
