FYI if anyone has a radio with broken clips, it is possible to remove.

I ended up removing the lower dash and glove box, and then used a pry bar to force it out. My headunit no longer works, although I'm not sure if it was from needing to force it out or not.
If anyone needs a new stock headunit for cheap, this dealer is selling them new for $40. <a href="http://www.audipartssuperstore.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=967&osCsid=8rbua480ji 3ac1kkeusu5gr2t0"> click</a>

So, let me get this straight...the head unit was broken before you took it out...then you disassembled the lower dash in order to pry it out. Did you install a new one yet? My clips are broken too, but the radio works fine, I would like to get it out and remove the broken clips entirely if that's possible so I can access it whenever I want, but I definately don't want to break it.

My radio was working, during the process of removing it, the 7.5A fuse on the back blew. I replaced the fuse and the unit no longer turned on. I don't honestly know what actually killed the unit though, I'm not sure I would be prying it out if I wasn't planning on replacing it.

Yeah I definately don't want that. And I know that without the clips, there would be nothing holding it in...but it fits in there pretty tight, so I don't think it would move around much at all...and i'd rather be able to access it whenever I need to, instead of never.
