it's been places like KY, KA, Southern IL, WI that have had rediculous gas increase, but major metropolitan areas have remained the same. It's just gas station owners trying to make extra cash.. and ask for A LOT of trouble from the law as well.

They've had orders from corporate and goverment to shut down refineries and deliveries and go to maximum security, so gas supplies will be disrupted in the short term until threat assesment is complete. Long term there will be middle east ramifications, so look for gas prices to fluctuate, but most likely will remain high.

middle east and potential pissing off of opec countries drove crude prices substantially higher yesterday. It would be natural for prices to jump.
