Default Gas smell inside car on WOT.

For the past few days I have noticed that when my A/C is warmed up,* and I step on the gas hard, I get a gas smell in the cabin through the vents. I don't know if any fluids used in the a/c system smell like petroleum / gas / whatever, so a couple of times I have pulled over, popped the hood, and looked for ANY evidence of leakage, or ANY gas smell. Nothing. I am also not losing gas / anything dripping while parked, nor do I experience less than normal mileage.

Anyone had this before / have any idea what would be stinking up my car?

* (does NOT happen when I first start the car, only after the A/C has cooled me from 115+ degrees outside ambient to when it slows the fans for the first time; I have it set at 78 usually)

I also just read this post and wondered if having recently spilled a little bit of fluid from the reservoir cirled in the pic, could have caused it ... what is that? Coolant? Can it smell like gas as it's burning off? Spill was a slight overflow about 2-3 days ago, right before smell started!

Default Hmm...

Overflowing coolant has an acrid/sweet smell, but it doesn't smell like gas. Why'd it overflow? I've been driving in 115 degree heat, and the engine was still cool like a cucumber.

It overflowed because it was still too hot when I opened the cap ... oops.

Don't know - how would I tell and why would it do that? Is that serious, or still ok to drive?
