Gas tank gurgling

Gas tank gurgling
2000 A4 1.8T Drivers,
My check engine light has been coming on and my dealership hasn't been able to find the cause. They've changed several vacuum lines and valves but I suspect the problem is in the gas tank/filler area. When the car is warm and is restarted after being off for five or ten minutes there is a distinct gurgling coming from the gas tank filler area. The gurgle lasts for about seven second. The cap seems fine. What is up!? Has anyone experienced this? Any resolutions?

If it's a Quattro that's normal. The tank is "U" shaped and is pumping gas from one side...
to the other. You may need a new gas cap if you keep getting codes. I just had my emissions done today in Colorado and the car passed fine but my gas cap had a hair line crack in it and failed because it wouldn't pressurize fully. Went and bought a new one and all was fine.
