Default gear selector indicator

i just replaced my headlight switch it was simple enough to do, but the one i had ordered from autozone was slightly different, so i had to buy the one from audi. my question is that now the headlight switch is working fine, but on the guage cluster where it indicates which gear i am in, they all stay lit. if i move the shifter into tiptronic mode, it still reads prnd432 instead of 54321. also, as i am decelerating and come to a stop, the rpms will dip to about 500 and the idle will be rough. DID SOMETHING GET SHORTED OUT? i don't see how this should be affected by replacing the headlight switch. any help please. thanks

Default You need a VAG-COM to pull trans codes.

You have a sport? Steering wheel shift? Leave airbag light?
