Default General Question: Is there any difference between Quattro and AWD?

Or is Quattro a fancy name for the same thing?

Default Perhaps I should have been more specific

I meant the system in a Quattro car, as opposed to the system in a scooby, or another AWD that isn't a truck. Are there any differences in their operation?

Default It's Audi's brand name for their all wheel drive system

It actually covers 2 different systems currently, plus older versions (we're on Quattro IV now).

Default Other brands have different %'s of torque split between axles and wheels

Some brands are basically a front wheel driver with torque sent to the rear if the fronts slip, some are the reverse. I think quattro is almost 50/50.
