Default It's going well, but not enough time for AW...

next time, I'll negotiate that as a bennifit ;-).

Try emailing me at this address, I just updated it, it should work. hrspear@bu.edu

Default for the A4, A6, A8 & S4 it's normally 50/50 - the TT is normally more of a fwd under normal (more)

conditions. The passat 4 motion is actually
a quattro system. The TT quattro is actually
a four motion system. The 50/50 torque split
changes as soon as one wheel begins to slip
or rotate faster than the rest. In most
driving scenerios, quattro is the best AWD system
available. I'm not sure if it would be a good
sytem for a Jeep that regularly goes
"mountain climbing"

Thanks, though the a-hole attitude I could have done without.

no -- the difference comes in play depending on whether it's a haldex system or not.

sorry bro, didn't mean to come off as an a-hole, just wasn't sure if you were trolling.

Default Not exactly

Just a couple of nit-picky corrections:
Quattro is a brand name, nothing more. VW's 4 Motion (their AWD brand name) uses the same systems as Audi. The VW Passat, Audi A4, S4, A6, A8 use a Torsen based system which under normal conditions distributes power equally to all four wheels. The VW Golf and Jetta and the Audi TT and A3/S3 use a Haldex based system which sends all power to the front wheels until slippage occurs. Which system is superior is one worthy of detailed discussion on its own.
