living in the midwest I have the opportunity to get 93 octane and I always fill up with 93 octane shell...
for n-dbw chips I don't think that there is a 93 octane program, right?
so, should I continue to fill up with the 93 or should I switch to 91 becuase the 93 isn't necessary...sounds dumb, but I thought I might as well ask...
plus, what gas stations do you always use? I always go to shell bc they carry 93 and it's easy to get in/out, but how does their gas stand up to other gas stations...

The GIAC Chip always advances the timing until it detects pinging, and then backs down. Only to continue the process again. If you are running 93 you should be able to advance your timing more than 91. So theoretically you should see more power running 93.
But as always I could be completely wrong.

My understanding is that programs have an optimal timing advance. I think the ECU will try to use that max advance 'written' in the software and then dials it back (to the limit it can) when knock is is detected. It won't increase beyond the max .. just won't pull as far as conditions allow.
