Default Getting late and I'm thinking too much ---> GTRS thoughts in my head since my K03 is going...

I just picked up this PC-16 chip and 310 injectors from "TwentyValveB5" and I am wondering if I should just go to a ATP 28RS eliminator instead of the K04.

Trouble is I would like reliability so GIAC software *seems* like the way to go. I remember "Bitjockey" going on and on about how his car ran very well with the GTRS and PC-16 software... hmmmmmmmmmm?

Would I be silly to do this? I know I wouldn't be getting the full effect of the RS turbo, but I would think it would run very *safe* and cool, maybe even without a FMIC?

Am I nuts here? I am worried about going K04 only to have it cook on me as several others have had happen. Same to be said for a GT2X, that would be a good match for PC-16 software for sure... but they certainly have a poor track record from the limited views I've seen.

Thoughts?

Default Do you think it would work well with teh PC-16 and 310's?

Any idea?

I don't mind spending a little more $$ for a better unit... and maybe a little more power too.

My only real concern is loosing the low end grunt of the little turbo....

Default You could get the GTRS kit and buy my 1.3 bar PES GIAC software?

spoke with PES a while back, and was told it would work even with a GT2871r, just not reach its full potential but work great.

I have a 1.3 bar chip from my PES kit..

Anyone that can shed some light on this post up..

Cheers,
Joel

Default I really liked my K04 until it started blowing oil

I'm almost tempted to put my car back to the way it was with one.

Default epl?? I guess I am not quite up on the lingo. ;)

I think maybe I should just continue on down the very slippery slope that is the turbo boostynessessed-ness in my baby steps and go with a K04.

I don't want to deal with programing and all that. What I need is to drive/ride in a car with a BT.

Maybe Bitjockey will chime in on his thoughts of going from the K04 to GTRS with no change in software.

Lastly I suppose I could just do it, run it on PC-16 over the winter and see how it feels/logs etc. Maybe when the weather gets warm again I'd have to do something else as far as a FMIC or programing. ?????? Whay do I do this to myself late at night? heh heh.

Default The ups and downs are-a-plenty.

On another note, my truck is being sold so I will not have a torque monster HX-turbo'd oil burner anymore soon. ;( How's your HX turbo working out?

I bought a 1961 International all wheel drive ex-fire truck with only 5910 miles on it!! It's a "medium duty" truck, you know 20 inch wheels, big-rig kinda thing (but not 20 inch DuB's yo') 18,000 lbs GVW. It's a sweet rig, just like new. Removed all the firetruck stuff on the back and I made it the same wheel base as a reg cab long bed truck so it's short and fun to drive... Manual shift, about as far away from a short-shifter as you can get, a true beast. You know what they say, "The bigger the truck the smaller the....."
