Default Besides who knows how maladapted his APR ECU may have been...

you know how it is you drive em' for a while...you mother borrows the car puts in 87 Octane and boom the timing maps are all screwed up and the only way to get your power back is to, drive, drive, drive your way to a firmer stomach...uhh I mean advanced timing maps.

So maybe he got the infamous ECU swap syndrome...I know my K04'd car would come back to life with every ECU power cycling..

Default James, does this apply to new APR chips with EMCS too? (m)

Would throttle body alignment fix that instead? Or do you really need to unplug the ECU, and if so, how often is this to be done?

Default Fed up with opinions: by my interval times GIAC rules

60-80 mph in 4th gear(floor it at 55, measure interval time 60-80 mph.)

Wett 1.0 5.6 sec temp 52F
APR 5.7 sec temp 55F lots of pinging
GIAC 1.1 4.7 sec temp 52F ping/surge program
Stock 7.9 sec temp 70F seems glacial
E30 M3 Dinan chip/exhaust cam sprocket
6.3 sec 39F
Flame away. I trust data.

Is that the same as throttle body adaptation?

Default Rumor has it that doing a T-Body adapt and clearing the DTC's does the same thing as

unplugging the ECU...all of the maps are hard coded maps are re-loaded from ROM and the car uses those and modifies them over time till they're properly adapted for that car....so yeah maybe that would work on the EMCS setup.
