I know that's not the time frame you're looking for, but that's when I'll be messing around with mine. I am putting the "stock" chip module in mine as I might be trading in the A4...

The stock chip's removed from the board when they install the socket for the GIAC.
So, if I want to swap back to stock, I have to unplug the GIAC and plug back in this board that they're selling me with the stock program on it. (or something like that).

the trick is to put the pins in the chip, then lay down a bead of solder holding them to the board. Don't worry if you cross connections with solder at this point. Once you got a good bead on both sides, you can the pull the chip off the pins and clean up the connections to how they need to be. Make sure you have enough solder down. If you don't and yank it up, you can pull a pad off the board, then you could be hating life
