Default Is the GIAC transmission chip needed w/ APR?
If I get an APR upgrade chip for my 2001 1.8TQ do I need a transmission chip as well? Does the APR chip also enhance the tiptronic shifting?

Can I get a GIAC tiptronic transmission chip without a 1.0 upgrade chip? Will it do anything?

Yes, it will help. Yes, you can get one with the APR chip. No, it's not required.

Default there is a separate ecu for the tranny....
it is located the passenger footwell,
your APR chip does nothin for the tranny
