Default goddamn radio code

I had to replace the fuse for my 96 Delta radio and now it reads "SAFE"... I followed the owner's manual and entered the 4-digit code in my radio iser's guide but it doesn't seem to be the right code...after 2 attempts, the radio locked up. According to the manual, after 1 hour, the radio should again be able to accept the access code..

Question...I took the radio out and now have all of the numbers listed for the unit. If I call my local Audi dealer, can they tell me over the phone what the code is?? I don't want to haev the pay them any $$ to give me 4 simple digits..

has anyone else out there had this problem?? I have a feeling that when I bought this car used, the put the wrong radio owner's manual in my car and therefore the code won't work.
Thanks in advance,

God's last name is not damn. He loves all of us so we should not use His name in vain. Thank you.

Look where your spare tire is - the code may be on a sticker there.
